Inspirational Indian Improv
by Stanley on Apr.25, 2009, under Theater
The cast of The Great Bollywood Puppet Extravaganza was invited to do a full length performance at this year’s Chicago Improv Festival. Festival Producer Jonathan Pitts gave us a two hour slot at the Gorilla Tango Theater, and we had a really good house, who really seemed to enjoy the show!
We saw a lot of really good Improv, and hobnobbed with some of the Improv greats like Mick Napier and MadTV’s Ike Barinholtz. The after festival Karaoke party was AMAZINGLY fun.
George and I also got to spend some time walking around Chicago… unfortunately the Museum of Broadcast Communication hadn’t quite reopened in their new facilities… I was hoping to get to visit with Charlie McCarthy. Maybe next time!
We did, however, get the chance to swing by the Second City for a photo op.
The history that’s happened there… wow.
Anyway, it was an absolutely fantastic trip, and the opportunity to play with the folks from Un-Scripted again made it that much better.

Hey everybody!
Again, sorry so quiet! The show is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AWEEEESOME! We’re having a great time, and the audiences seem to be, too.
There are a few other things in the works, I promise! My silence is not due to apathy, just over work! 🙂
In the meantime, enjoy this show clip!!

Opening Night News

Sorry for the delay in updating everything, folks. Just after getting back from Vegas, I had some ‘adjustments’ done to my wrist, so really couldn’t type much. And then there was dress rehearsal, Thanksgiving, and now… THE SHOW!!!
Here’s a clip from opening night with me, Pepper, Hidalgo, Clay and Bryce:

Puppet Publicity Photos

So, for the last hour of rehearsal on Tuesday and Wednesday, we set up the lights and backdrops to do publicity photos for the show. It was alot of madcapped, crazy fun, with us getting to wear costumes and pose and we even faked a knife fight at one point.
While Christian took the official photos, Producer Alan took some behind the scenes pictures, and shared them on his blog today.
This is one of Jenny and I, recreating a classic Bollywood movie pose. Jenny is really nice. I may ask her out to the Still Unnamed Giant Corporate Coffee Chain for coffee sometime, assuming that Andy doesn’t move in first.
Have a great weekend, everyone. I’m taking the weekend off to rest my aching thighs. Dancing is HARD!!
Sore,
Stanley
