Inspirational Indian Improv
by Stanley on Apr.25, 2009, under Theater
The cast of The Great Bollywood Puppet Extravaganza was invited to do a full length performance at this year’s Chicago Improv Festival. Festival Producer Jonathan Pitts gave us a two hour slot at the Gorilla Tango Theater, and we had a really good house, who really seemed to enjoy the show!
We saw a lot of really good Improv, and hobnobbed with some of the Improv greats like Mick Napier and MadTV’s Ike Barinholtz. The after festival Karaoke party was AMAZINGLY fun.
George and I also got to spend some time walking around Chicago… unfortunately the Museum of Broadcast Communication hadn’t quite reopened in their new facilities… I was hoping to get to visit with Charlie McCarthy. Maybe next time!
We did, however, get the chance to swing by the Second City for a photo op.
The history that’s happened there… wow.
Anyway, it was an absolutely fantastic trip, and the opportunity to play with the folks from Un-Scripted again made it that much better.
Salutations,
Stanley
Sensational School Sailing
by Stanley on Apr.18, 2009, under Misc
I truly believe in the value of a good education. That’s why, when the Creative Opportunities organization invited me along as a Celebrity Chaperon on their class trip, I readily accepted, and brought George along as my cabin mate.
We set sail from San Diego, and made our way to Catalina and then Ensenada, before heading home 4 days later.
The students were sensational, and we all had a fantastic time. Especially George, who probably put on a good 8 pounds from all the food he ate.
[ed note: I only gained 3 — George]
So make sure you’re doing your part to support education. Our children are the future of our nation… and some day we’ll need them to bring us soup.
Smartly,
Stanley
George Speaks: Open Source
by George on Mar.16, 2009, under George
I don’t post often. Mostly because I don’t have my own blog. But I figured that a post here every once in a while couldn’t hurt.
As most of you know, I’m the tech head behind Stanley’s escapades. I manage his web presence, run cameras for videos, and recover from hacker attacks. I’m also a huge proponent of Open Source software, and I was lucky enough to be invited to present at the 2009 Drupal*Con in Washington DC.
It’s always great to see the Drupal crew at each Drupal*Con. And this time it was even a bigger thrill to get to hang out with folks like Dries and MerlinOfChaos and present along side Jeff Eaton.
I also had a little time to explore DC, which was a whole lot of fun. If you ever get a chance to get to Drupal*Con, I highly recommend it.

OKAY! Here it is. The Vegas Video! So many thanks to all my awesome friends who I hung out with for the week. Especially to Linda for filling in as my Producer while George was home suffering through a week without me in the house.
Sittin on the Strip,
Stanley
