Phoenixish Procession from Purgatory
by Stanley on Jun.20, 2010, under PSA
Much like jaundice or leprosy can rear it’s ugly head once you thought it had passed, the villains from Hackistan brought ruin down upon my webhost through a security flaw in the blogging system we were using.
Much of the last year’s worth of posts are lost to oblivion, as I was unaware that it was MY responsibility to run regular backups on the database. I thought that’s what I was paying George for, but… what can be done?
[ed note: He’s not paying me — George]
We will do our best to retrieve whatever content we can from oblivion, but in the meantime, here is Blog version 3.0, built in WordPress 3.0. Appropriate, no?
Stoicly,
Stanley
Alive Again!
by Stanley on Sep.29, 2008, under PSA
Greetings, guys and girls!
As you may have noticed last week, my blog was visciously vandalized by some villians from Hackistan. They spared nothing, and tromped treacherously through my treasured tidings.
Unfortunately, the complete waste of space that was my former webhost couldn’t do a thing to fix it, and the bounteous backups they supposed kept turned out to be nothing more than bogus blathering.
So now, with the help of the wonderful warriors at CrazyAweso.me, my blog is born again!
Let this be a lesson to those of you who don’t make lots of local backups, as often as you can!
Sincerely,
Stanley
